Current Lake Ray Hubbard Conditions
As of March 24, 2026, Lake Ray Hubbard is maintaining a steady pool level. Understanding these fluctuations is a mechanical necessity for finding fish, especially when targeting shallow-water species or navigating the standing timber in the northern arms.
- Conservation Pool: 435.5'
- Current Elevation: ~435.53' (Stable)
- Status: 100% Capacity
How Water Levels Affect the Bite
Water levels dictate where the fish hold and how we approach them. At Lead Slingers Outdoor Fishing Guide, we adjust our tactics daily based on these specific shifts:
- Full Pool (Current Status): When the lake is at 100% capacity, fish move into the newly submerged vegetation and "willow grass" along the shoreline. This makes the riprap along I-30 and the shallows near Rockwall prime territory for Largemouth Bass.
- Rising Water: Inflow from the East Fork of the Trinity River brings nutrients and baitfish into the creek channels. We focus on these transition zones where Blue Catfish and Hybrid Striped Bass congregate to feed on the moving bait.
- Falling Water: As levels drop, fish are pushed off the shallow flats and into deeper structure. This is when our Garmin Panoptix electronics become vital, allowing us to locate schools of Crappie and White Bass holding tight to submerged timber and humps.
Navigating Lake Ray Hubbard Safely
Stable water levels mean most boat ramps, including Harbor Bay Marina, are fully operational. However, even at full pool, the northern section of the lake contains extensive standing timber. We utilize years of local knowledge to navigate these hazards safely while putting you directly over the fish.
Book Your Trip Based on Current Conditions
Don't guess where the fish are hiding. We track these levels and water temperatures year-round to ensure your time on the water is spent catching, not searching.
